Over the weekend, I ran into a few links I really wanted to share but didn’t feel like spamming anyone in particular about.
Google Flutrends is a really interesting use of the internet. They’re aggregating flu-related searches to predict and track the location, timing, and intensity of the flu season. I think this sort of data-mining could be a great boon to humanity.
CouchDB is an incubator project by Apache. It’s a really neat approach to databases — more like an amorphous hash of key-value pairs associated under a “document” than a traditional (SQL) structured database.
Paul Graham once again hits the nail on the head with an insightful blog post about the balance between innovation and bureaucracy.
